Volunteer
RangeCare has a strong reputation for delivering quality in-home, respite and social support services to residents of the Blackall Range and surrounding areas. But we can't do it alone.
Volunteering at RangeCare
RangeCare is fortunate to have the support of around 150 local community
members who give their time voluntarily to support our clients and their carers. We simply couldn't provide the level of service that we do without the support of our volunteers.
Our volunteers support the community through a wide range of roles, including:
-
Meals on Wheels volunteers collect and deliver nutritious meals to people’s homes in Maleny
-
Volunteer drivers take clients to and from appointments
-
Kitchen volunteers assist at the Cottage Social & Respite Centre in Flaxton, Nambour & Gympie
-
Day Centre Volunteers support social activities at our Centres in Nambour, Flaxton & Gympie
-
Social Support Volunteers visit people in their homes or make regular phone calls to offer friendship and social support to older people
-
Op Shop Volunteers support the RangeCare Op Shop in Mapleton
RangeCare’s Board of Directors consist of elected volunteer members
Why Volunteer with Us
RangeCare offers a variety of options for volunteering to suit your interests, experience and availability. You can volunteer with RangeCare and use your existing skills while learning new ones in a welcoming and supportive team environment … and it's great to know that you are making a real difference in people’s lives. We know that the benefits of volunteering go both ways!
We will provide support throughout your time volunteering with us – this includes induction and orientation as well as ongoing support from our Volunteer Support Team. We also offer free training workshops for volunteers and opportunities throughout the year to get together socially and meet other volunteers.
Whether you have a little or a lot of time to give, we are appreciative of everyone’s contribution and would love to hear from you.

Volunteer Testimonials
“I enjoy volunteering in the kitchen because I like to be useful and helpful. I enjoy working with the staff because they are a lot of fun. They are kind and very helpful”
– Karen (Kitchen Assistant in the Flaxton Day Centre).
“I started volunteering with RangeCare to get to know more people in the area. It was important to me to connect with people who are in my community. Volunteering is giving me interesting things to do with my time. I don’t feel like the visits are part of volunteer work, it’s more like visiting a friend now”
– Marie (Home Visiting Volunteer, Maleny).
